CNAS AI Governance Forum
Artificial intelligence has catapulted into the public consciousness, sparking excitement and fear. Tech companies and investors are pouring billions into generative AI, and governments are wrestling with how to regulate AI without constraining innovation. Democratic nations have the opportunity to create a framework for global AI governance and pave the way for a bright future. The opportunities of AI are tremendous: advances in medicine, energy, basic science, productivity, and economic growth. The risks are daunting: potential accidents, misuse, and broad societal harms.
For policymakers and business leaders, navigating these risks to realize AI’s potential requires deep cooperation between the technology sector and government. The CNAS AI Governance Forum brings together diverse stakeholders from government, industry, and academia to better understand the risks and opportunities of AI and together develop solutions to harness AI’s potential.
