This two-day conference, hosted in partnership with the Nippon Foundation, the Sasakawa Peace Foundation, and the Ocean Policy Research Foundation, brought together leading American and Japanese policymakers and experts to discuss the military, economic, political, and strategic elements of a 21st century alliance, and featured a keynote address by Akihisa Nagashima, Japan’s Parliamentary Vice Minister of Defense.
