Our Make Room study session, the Next Phase of America’s Leadership Transition was held Tuesday, January 14 from 5:00-6:00 PM ET. The session featured the following speakers:

• Carrie Cordero, Robert M. Gates Senior Fellow and General Counsel at the Center for a New American Security
• Jacob Ware, Research Fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations

The event was moderated by Elizabeth Anderson, Visiting Associate Fellow for the Transatlantic Program at the Center for a New American Security.

The conversation surrounded presidential transitions and safeguarding democracy and national security during election cycles, with a focus on the 2024 U.S. election. Our panelists addressed some of the achievements and drawbacks in this space and shared their experiences analyzing democratic transitions.
