CNAS leadership, experts, and a small group of influential colleagues convened for a discussion about the strategic choices, opportunities, and challenges a new president will face. With representation from both sides of the aisle, sessions explored the national security inheritance, lessons learned from previous presidential transitions, recommendations for the first 100 days of a new administration, and how to approach the civilian-military relationship during a transition period.
