The Global Security Environment and Challenges for the U.S. Army
The Center for a New American Security (CNAS) was honored to host General George Casey, Jr., Chief of Staff of the Army, for National Security Leaders Forum discussion on April 1, 2010. The discussion focused on the challenge of rebalancing the Army while engaged in two prolonged conflicts.
General George W. Casey, Jr., became the 36th Chief of Staff of the U.S. Army in April 2007. In his previous assignment, he was the Commander of the Multi-National Force in Iraq, a coalition of over thirty countries, from July 2004 until February 2007.
CNAS' National Security Leaders Forum speaker series was established to provide a space where Republicans and Democrats, civilians and military could come together to discuss and address the national security challenges facing our nation.
