Special Event: President Biden’s First International Trip: Views from the National Security Council

The United States is gearing up for the first international trip by President Joseph R. Biden, Jr., who next week will travel to Europe to discuss shared solutions to the common challenges and opportunities that are shaping the 21st century, including defeating COVID-19, climate, revitalizing alliances and partnerships, inclusive economic recovery and growth, advanced technologies, and our collective security. This trip, where President Biden will attend the G7, NATO, and U.S.-EU Summits and meet bilaterally with fellow leaders including Prime Minister Boris Johnson and President Vladimir Putin, will showcase the Biden administration's approach to foreign policy at this crucial moment for U.S. global leadership.

To discuss the Biden Administration's approach to this trip, CNAS hosted Daleep Singh, Deputy Assistant to the President and Deputy National Security Advisor, Amanda Sloat, Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Europe on the National Security Council, and Eric F. Green, Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Russia and Central Asia on the National Security Council, on Friday, June 4, 2021. The discussion was moderated by Andrea Kendall-Taylor, Senior Fellow and Director of the CNAS Transatlantic Security Program.
