The Center for a New American Security (CNAS) held a virtual event on Thursday, March 27, at 3:30 p.m. ET on the future of military artificial intelligence.
This fireside chat featured Paul Scharre, executive vice president of the Center for a New American Security in conversation with Jacquelyn Schneider, fellow at Stanford University's Hoover Institution, and Julia Macdonald, research professor at the University of Denver's Josef Korbel School of International Studies.
The event highlighted the challenges and opportunities of integrating artificial intelligence into warfighting systems as they become more intelligent and capable. Dr. Schneider and Dr. Macdonald also discussed their latest book The Hand Behind Unmanned: Origins of the US Autonomous Military Arsenal, which discusses the people, policies, and institutions that have overseen the creation of America's autonomous and unmanned weapon arsenals.
