In 2023, CNAS launched a research project on cybersecurity in the Indo-Pacific to explore the fast-evolving landscape of cyber threats, policies, and practices in this critically important region. The Technology and National Security team has since organized workshops in Taiwan, Japan, the Philippines, and South Korea where experts discussed strategies to strengthen bilateral cybersecurity cooperation, address the cyber workforce gap, increase public-private partnerships, and adapt policies to cyber threats from Russia, China and North Korea.

Building on these discussions, CNAS will host a public panel discussion featuring Indo-Pacific cybersecurity experts, on Thursday, September 19 from 10:30–11:30 a.m. ET to explore how the cybersecurity industry, the U.S., and Indo-Pacific countries can collaboratively respond to emerging cyber threats. The event will be moderated by Jacob Stokes, senior fellow of the Indo-Pacific Security program at CNAS.

Featuring:

Kosei Nomura
Minister, Head of Economic Section, Embassy of Japan
