Watch:
In late October, Moldova and Georgia will hold crucial elections that will shape their democratic futures and geopolitical positioning between Russia and the West. While Moscow has recently upped its efforts to influence politics in both countries, the ongoing war in Ukraine has nonetheless presented an opportunity for the transatlantic partners to more firmly anchor Moldova and Georgia in the good governance, democracy, and economic prosperity of the Euro-Atlantic space.
To highlight a forthcoming policy brief on exploiting Russian weaknesses in the region, CNAS hosted a live recording of the Brussels Sprouts podcast on Friday, October 4 from 10:00–11:00a.m. EDT. Experts discussed the upcoming elections, geopolitical reorientations, and how the U.S. can enhance its support of the two nations.
