Virtual Panel Discussion: A Conversation with Asian American I Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Veteran Authors

On May 12, 2021, the Military, Veterans, and Society Program at the Center for a New American Security (CNAS) held an Asian American | Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Veteran Author Panel. The event was part of the Elevating Diverse Voices Initiative. The panel discussion was moderated by Kimberly Mitchell, Senior Vice President for Military, Veterans, and Government Affairs at National University, and hosted by Senior Fellow and Program Director Kate Kuzminski.
Rep. Ted Lieu (D-CA) delivered keynote remarks at the launch of the panel discussion. Rep. Lieu has served in the United States Air Force since 1995 and is currently a Colonel in the Judge Advocate Generals Corps of the Air Force Reserve.

- Michelle Dallocchio, author of The Desert Warrior: A Memoir and Quixote in Ramadi: An Indigenous Account of Imperialism
- Miyoko Hikiji, author of All I Count Be: My Story as a Woman Warrior in Iraq
- Matthew Komatsu, whose writing has been published in a variety of outlets, including The New York Times and Foreign Policy
