On Wednesday, November 18, 2020, CNAS hosted a virtual discussion featuring Congressman Jim Himes and other panelists about the future of innovation and investment in the intelligence community (IC). Congressman Himes, Chairman of the Strategic Technologies and Advanced Research (STAR) Subcommittee of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, discussed the Subcommittee's new report, Rightly Scaled, Carefully Open, Indefinitely Agile: Reconfiguring to Win the Innovation Race in the Intelligence Community. This report details the need for investment and innovation in the intelligence community in order to retain America's global competitiveness.
