Anika Binnendijk

Anika Binnendijk is serving as the special assistant to the Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs, in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Policy. During the 2008 presidential campaign, she was an aide to senior foreign policy advisor Richard Danzig. Her doctoral research, supported by a United States Institute of Peace dissertation fellowship, examined security force responses to episodes of popular uprisings. Anika has worked at the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, the National Democratic Institute, and Fortune, Inc., and is currently a member of the Board of Trustees at the Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs. Anika received her undergraduate degree from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University, and her masters and doctorate from the Fletcher School, Tufts University.
