Barret Bradstreet

Barret Bradstreet is a Marine Officer and doctoral candidate at Princeton’s Woodrow Wilson School. He is a native of Boston, Massachusetts and joins the CNAS Next Generation Program after serving as a member of the faculty of the history department of the US Naval Academy. Prior to that assignment, he served as infantry platoon commander in the 3rd Battalion, 4th Marines and advisor to Iraqi troops and commanders in successive deployments to Iraq in 2004 and 2005. Barret Bradstreet studied Social Studies at Harvard College and earned a master’s degree in Comparative Politics from the London School of Economics. At Princeton, he intends to explore the experience of the British Indian Army in the nineteenth century. Upon completion, he intends to return to the work of leading Marines in the far-flung corners of the globe.
