Director of Business Strategy and Operations for Financial Crimes Risk Management, Charles Schwab

Brooke Neuman is the Director of Business Strategy and Operations for Financial Crimes Risk Management at Charles Schwab. In this role, she is responsible for maintaining the effectiveness of the program, supporingt long-term planning, and implementing strategy and business requirements.

Prior to joining Charles Schwab, Ms Neuman served as the External Affairs Coordinator for the interagency Hostage Recovery Fusion Cell, focused on bringing home and supporting U.S. Citizens held overseas. Brooke Neuman also served General Stanley McChrystal's chief of staff and Director of Operations for McChrystal Group. In this role, she coordinates and implements policies and guidelines to maintain effective organizational operations and communications. Her duties also include speech writing and development, researching geopolitical trends, as well as creating intellectual capital for McChrystal Group.

Ms. Neuman worked in the Office of the Secretary of Defense for Policy. While working on middle east defense policy, she was the country director for United Arab Emirates and Kuwait, as well as the Political Team Leader on the Iraq policy desk. While working on Central Asia, Ms. Neuman was detailed to Commander, International Security Assistant Force’s Strategic Advisory Group in Kabul as a policy advisor. Upon her return to the Pentagon, she became the Governance/Development Team Lead for Afghanistan. Before joining the Department of Defense, she worked in the Military and Security
Studies Program at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy.

Ms. Neuman holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, a BA in International Studies from the Johns Hopkins University, as well as a graduate diploma in International Relations from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.
