Christina Sandstedt

Christina Sandstedt is an active-duty Coast Guard officer, currently serving as a Legislative Fellow for Senator Roger Wicker. Previously, she served aboard three Coast Guard cutters, conducting operations in the Arabian Gulf, South China Sea, and Eastern Pacific Ocean. Her most recent afloat tour was as Commanding Officer of Coast Guard Cutter BLACKFIN, conducting search and rescue and law enforcement along the California coast. While aboard BLACKFIN, she assumed the role of On-Scene Coordinator in the wake of the 2021 Huntington Beach Oil Spill involving the discharge of over 25,000 gallons of oil. She managed the movements of recovery and law enforcement vessels cleaning oil slicks and enforcing the closure of three critical harbors.
Christina is a native of Chicagoland and graduated from Wheaton College with a B.S. in Environmental Science. She is currently pursuing a M.S. in Strategic Studies from the Naval War College.
