Daniel Block is a senior editor at Foreign Affairs, where he commissions and edits articles about a variety of international topics—including the war in Ukraine, U.S. policy toward Iran, and rising tensions over Taiwan. His writing has appeared in The Atlantic, The Washington Post, Politico Magazine, Foreign Policy, and other publications. Before joining Foreign Affairs, Daniel was the executive editor of the Washington Monthly, where he wrote and edited stories on domestic and global issues.

From 2017 to 2018, Daniel was a Luce Scholar writing for The Caravan and living in New Delhi. He graduated from Swarthmore College in 2016 with highest honors.
