Gene Germanovich

Senior Defense Analyst, RAND Corporation
Gene Germanovich is a senior defense analyst at the non-profit, non-partisan RAND Corporation. In this role, he conducts research and analysis for U.S. Government-funded national security projects. Prior to joining RAND in 2017, Gene worked at a national security consulting firm where he conducted policy analysis and strategic planning for the Office of the Secretary of Defense, Marine Corps, and other U.S. Government clients. He specializes in international security cooperation, defense budgeting, and Marine Corps strategy and operations. Gene's commentary has appeared in Joint Forces Quarterly, the Marine Corps Gazette, and War on the Rocks.
Gene received a B.S. from the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs at Georgia Tech and an M.A. in Security Studies from Georgetown University. He is a fluent Russian speaker with an interest in European security and the NATO alliance.
