Hady Amr
Hady Amr is a Visiting Fellow at the Brookings Institution in Washington working on a range of socioeconomic and geopolitical issues facing the Middle East, with a focus on Arab-Israeli relations, the Levant, and the Gulf, as well as Arab human development. A White House appointee and senior diplomat in the Obama administration, he served as Deputy Assistant Administrator for the Middle East at the U.S. Agency for International Development and most recently as U.S. Deputy Special Envoy for Israeli-Palestinian Negotiations, focusing on economics and Gaza. Previously, he served at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and at the U.S. Department of Defense and was the Founding Director of the Brookings Doha Center.
