Hannah Smith

Major Hannah M. Smith is an Army intelligence officer serving at Ft. Meade, Maryland where she focuses on bringing strategic intelligence capabilities to the tactical level. Hannah previously served as an Assistant Professor of International Relations at the United States Military Academy where she taught courses on national security and great power competition. Hannah has also served as an intelligence officer in several infantry units to include the 82nd Airborne Division, 25th Infantry Division, and with 75th Ranger Regiment. She has deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan.
Hannah holds a Master in Military Arts and Science from the Command and General Staff College at Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas where she was an Art of War Scholar. She holds special qualifications in military strategy and military history. Hannah also holds an M.A. in Global Affairs from Yale University and a B.S. in Economics from the United States Military Academy at West Point. Her research and publications include how technology affects learning and the national security politics of military recruiting.
