Jacob Morton

Jacob Morton is an active duty intelligence officer in the U.S. Navy, currently assigned to the Defense Intelligence Agency, where he conducts analysis on transnational organized criminal activity in the Eastern Hemisphere. Before reporting to DIA, LT Morton served as the Targeteer at US Naval Forces Central Command in Manama, Bahrain and Operations Officer at the Fleet Intelligence Detachment in Washington, DC. In 2016, he deployed on board USS Wasp as an intelligence watch officer and imagery officer, supporting Operation Odyssey Lightning in Libya, as well as exercises and maritime security operations in the Mediterranean, Black, and Red Seas.
Jacob is a proud native of China Grove, North Carolina. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from North Carolina State University in 2010 and a Master of Arts in Conflict, Security & Development from King’s College London in 2011. He is currently enrolled in Georgetown University Law Center’s evening program, where he is part of the national security law specialization program and serves on the staff of the Georgetown Law Journal. Before joining the navy, Jacob taught high school history in North Carolina, and continues to volunteer as an assistant swim coach at Edison High School in Alexandria.
