Jan Mohammad Jahid is an Adjunct Associate Fellow with CNAS, where his work focuses on human rights and civil society in Afghanistan and working with the Afghan diaspora. From 2013 to 2021, he worked in the Ministry of Interior Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, first as an executive officer for the Minister of Interior and subsequently for the deputy minister for policy and strategy. Jahid has also worked as a civil society activist at the Reform and Change Network, where he was deputy assistant for promoting democratic principles, human rights, gender equality, freedom of speech and faith, peace and reconciliation, education, and youth partnership with the government.
