Jared Brown

Jared Brown is a member of the Task Force on Artificial Intelligence and National Security. He is also the Director of U.S. and International Policy at the Future of Life Institute. He is also the President of the Action Fund on Emerging Technology and Risk. In both capacities, Jared is working to improve technology policy, particularly related to AI systems, to maximize the benefits of these technologies through the mitigation of their societal risks. His work includes active advocacy with U.S. and international policymakers and the provision of formal advise on draft and official policy. He has spent his career working at the intersection of public policy and risk management, having previously served as an Analyst in Emergency Management and Homeland Security Policy at the U.S. Congressional Research Service and in homeland security at the U.S. Department of Transportation. He has earned a Master of Public Policy from Georgetown University and a B.S. in Social Psychology from the University of California, San Diego.
