Keerthi Martyn

Keerthi Martyn is a research assistant for the Indo-Pacific Security Program at the Center for a New American Security (CNAS).

His research focuses on South Asia, particularly U.S. policy toward the Indian Ocean region, and covers geopolitics and security issues related to India and small littoral states like Sri Lanka and the Maldives. Before joining CNAS, he worked at the Congressional Research Service (CRS) in the Asia section of the foreign affairs, defense, and trade division, where he analyzed political and human rights developments in Sri Lanka and India. He also served as a Fulbright scholar at the Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute of International Relations and Strategic Studies in Sri Lanka, researching avenues for strengthening cooperation in U.S.-Sri Lanka relations. Martyn has contributed to written publications for CRS, the Journal of Indo-Pacific Affairs, and the Council on Foreign Relations. He holds a BA in government and global studies from Colby College, graduating in 2022.
