Kelly Howard

Kelly Howard is an Army Captain currently serving at the Pentagon as Special Assistant to the Chief of Staff of the Army. Her focus is writing a command report on Iraq from 2004-2007. She previously served for 17 months in Baghdad as the Operations Officer for the Commanding General, Multi-National Force-Iraq, where she worked on two four-star staffs and was responsible for coordinating battlefield circulations within Iraq, conferences in the Middle East and Europe, and Congressional hearings in Washington, D.C. Kelly was also deployed to Tikrit, Iraq, as assistant operations officer for a personnel services battalion during the first year of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Her stateside assignments have included Schofield Barracks, Hawaii; Fort Jackson, South Carolina; and Fort Hood, Texas.
Kelly graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point with a B.S. in Political Science and Latin American Studies and was commissioned in 2002 as a Second Lieutenant in the Adjutant General Corps. She also has Masters in Human Resources Management from Webster University.
In her free time, Kelly teaches yoga at the Pentagon Athletic Center, where she is a certified yoga instructor. She lives in Washington, D.C., with her two Papillion pups, Chloe and Chancellor.
