Leighton Symons is a former Joseph S. Nye, Jr. Research Intern for the Transatlantic Security Program at the Center for a New American Security (CNAS).
Leighton is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Arts in History at Princeton University where she will begin her final year this fall. Her research focuses on the decline of the British Empire, the Anglo-Canadian relationship and Canada's role on the world stage. At Princeton, Leighton is Editor-in-Chief of the Historical Review and works as an International Policy Associate at the Liechtenstein Institute on Self-Determination and as a Research Assistant at the Niehaus Center for Globalization and Governance.
