LT Artem Sherbinin

LT Artem Sherbinin is an active-duty Surface Warfare Officer in the U.S. Navy. He currently serves as the inaugural Chief Technology Officer at TASK FORCE HOPPER – U.S. Naval Surface Forces Command’s digital innovation team.

At sea, Artem served as an engineering officer, navigator, and air defense planner onboard guided missile cruisers and destroyers. He deployed three times to the Western Pacific, and was previously stationed in Yokosuka, Japan. Ashore, Artem co-founded the Surface Navy’s first-ever data analytics and artificial intelligence development team.

Artem was born in Kyiv, Ukraine, and was naturalized as a U.S. citizen in 2013. He earned his officer commissioned and B.S. in Political Science from the U.S. Naval Academy in 2018. He also holds an M.A. in Security Studies from Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service.
