Marissa Doran is a professional staff member of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, where she works on the multilateral, peacekeeping, and Africa portfolios. Before joining the Committee, Marissa was Director of Strategy for a Democratic firm in Boston, worked on the Obama and Shaheen campaigns in Manchester, NH, and served on the New England Steering Committee for the Obama campaign from the early days of the primary. A Rhodes scholar and a Truman scholar, she holds dual Master's degrees, both with distinction, from Oxford, and took the university's highest prize for a dissertation in African Studies. She grew up on a small farm in coastal Massachusetts, and graduated from Williams College.
