Marta San José Marín
Former Intern, National Security Oversight and Reform
Marta San José Marín is a former Joseph S. Nye, Jr. Intern for National Security Oversight and Reform at the Center for a New American Security (CNAS).
Prior to joining CNAS, Marta worked as an intern for the County of Teltow-Flaeming in Germany in the Office of Equal Opportunities and Integration, where she researched best integration practices of refugees in the local community. Previously, she was a legislative intern for U.S. Senator Mark Warner. Marta has a strong interest in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). She formerly interned there and wrote her senior thesis on the effectiveness of NATO’s gender policies and programs.
Marta is an alumna from James Madison University, where she received a B.A. in International Affairs and French. Marta’s research interests include national security, congressional oversight, and gender in international relations. Marta is bilingual in Spanish and English, fluent in French, and is currently learning German.
