Maura McCarthy
Publications and Editorial Director
Maura McCarthy is the publications and editorial director at CNAS. In this capacity, she manages the publications process for the Center’s written products and provides editorial oversight.
Prior to joining CNAS in April 2015, McCarthy was a member of the publishing team at the U.S. Naval Institute, serving as associate editor for both Proceedings and Naval History. She previously worked as the research director of Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America; editor of U.S. Coast Guard Forum and Military Advanced Education, published by KMI Media Group; and as a member of the communications team at the World Affairs Institute. McCarthy earned an MA in international relations from Boston College and a BA in both international relations and French from Rollins College. She also studied at Hollins University, Paris, and Birkbeck, University of London.
