Michael Venn

As Technical Assistant to the Executive Vice President for Electronic Systems, Mr. Venn is responsible for assisting the Executive Vice President in the management and execution of Electronic Systems responsibilities.

Prior to assuming his current position, Mr. Venn previously served as Chief of Staff and Director, Strategy & Operations, where he was responsible for assisting the Corporate Senior Vice President, Washington Operations in the management and execution of Washington Operations responsibilities. Accordingly, he was the principal liaison with the Executive Office of the Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer, the Corporate Staff, the executive offices of the operating companies, and other corporate functions as appropriate. Before that, he was Marketing Research Planner, Plans & Policy at Lockheed Martin Washington Operations where he analyzed the programs, policies and budgets of the Departments of Defense and Homeland Security, the Intelligence Community, and related civil agencies.

Prior to joining Lockheed Martin, Mr. Venn held a fellowship in the Office of the Secretary of Defense where he handled the coordination of interagency and intelligence activities. Mr. Venn's previous experience includes defense and national security research and analysis as a researcher at the Center for Strategic and International Studies on the Beyond Goldwater-Nichols Phase 2 defense reform study and in the office of a senior U.S. Senator.

A graduate of American University, Mr. Venn holds a Master's of Arts degree in International Affairs with a concentration in International Security. He earned his Bachelor's degree summa cum laude from The University of Scranton, Scranton, PA, with a double major in Political Science and International Studies and a double minor in Japanese and Philosophy. In addition, he has completed executive education work in finance and accounting at The Wharton School of The University of Pennsylvania. In his community outreach role, he is Secretary (and previously the Treasurer) of the Board of Directors of Hexagon, Inc. and a member of the Development Committee of the U.S. Capitol Historical Society.
