Sahil Jain is the Special Assistant to Deputy Secretary of State Kurt Campbell, focusing on South and Central Asia. A career diplomat, he has held diverse roles across the U.S. government, including service at the White House on the National Security Council, where he worked on AUKUS, and as a Policy Advisor in the Vice President’s Office of National Security Affairs. Overseas, Sahil served as a Political Officer at the U.S. Embassies in China and India.

Domestically, Sahil has contributed to key policy initiatives in the Department of State’s Office of Israeli-Palestinian Affairs, Bureau of Consular Affairs, and at USAID. He has also served as a Legislative Assistant for Congressman Ami Bera, where he managed the foreign affairs portfolio.

Sahil holds a Master’s degree in International Affairs from The George Washington University and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Syracuse University. He is fluent in Hindi, Mandarin Chinese, Punjabi, and Spanish.
