Sarah Newsome
Former Intern, Defense Program
Sarah Newsome is a former Joseph S. Nye, Jr. Intern for the Defense Program at the Center for a New American Security (CNAS).
Prior to joining CNAS, Sarah worked as a congressional intern in the House of Representatives. Most recently, she worked as a Government Relations Intern at the American Bakers Association (ABA), a national trade association that represents over 200 bakers and allied members. At ABA, Sarah helped the Government Relations team advance key policy issues for its members.
Sarah recently graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.A. in Foreign Affairs and Religious Studies. Her primary areas of interest are International Relations, Defense, and Public Policy. In 2018, she studied European politics and counterterrorism in Rome. She is proficient in Spanish.
