Will Harwood
Former Communications Advisor
Will Harwood is a former communications advisor at CNAS, where he contributes to a wide range of public relations programs that advance the Center’s mission and research.
Will has worked in journalism, publishing, and global strategic communications for more than 15 years, holding executive positions in both agency and international corporate settings. Most recently, Will served as Head of Communications and Public Affairs for Lidl US, a division of the Schwarz Group, the fourth largest retailer globally.
Will has spent much of his life and career at the intersection of global affairs and international relations. Will is an alumni of the longest-standing student exchange between Germany and the United States and has lived, worked and studied in Germany and South Korea. In 2022, Will spoke at the rededication of the German-American Friendship Garden on the National Mall, where he highlighted the lifelong impact that foreign exchange programs have on American students.
Will is an active member of Braver Angels, a national, volunteer-led non-profit focused on reducing polarization and partisan animosity in the United States. He is also a member of the George C. Marshall International Center, which is dedicated to preserving the legacy and leadership of the legendary American five-star general and statesman.
