Afghanistan's unanswered questions

President Barack Obama wants to plot a clear path for national security and foreign policy in the post-Afghanistan era, but there are still many uncharted areas.

Obama’s announcement Tuesday that he’ll post 9,800 troops in Afghanistan past the end of the year — but bring them all home in the two years after that — answers several major questions about the future of U.S. national security.

But there are many more that don’t have any answers yet — here is POLITICO’s look at four.
