Lisa Curtis, director of the Indo-Pacific Security Program at the Center for a New American Security, said that it was imperative for the Indian government to cooperate with U.S. authorities and to demonstrate it is taking steps to prevent any potential future assassination plots, to help mitigate the negative fallout of the incident.
"To preserve the hard-fought progress made in U.S.-India relations in recent years, it is incumbent on New Delhi to take the allegations seriously and to punish those involved in the plot," she said.
