How the Russian Revolt Could Transform the War in Ukraine

“I don’t think the Russian front line is in danger of immediate collapse,” Franz-Stefan Gady, a military analyst with the Center for a New American Security, told The Messenger. “We haven’t really seen a slowdown of Russian military operations. Sortie raids by Russian aircraft have been continuing over the last 48 hours. The Ukrainians are still meeting resistance.”
Analyst Michael Kofman noted on Twitter Sunday that by shooting down six Russian military helicopters and a command-and-control aircraft, “Wagner forces likely did more damage to the Russian [air force] over the past day than much of the Ukrainian offensive had in recent weeks.”
But many experts also said that the damage done to the Russian command structure’s credibility will be hard to repair and could ultimately undermine Russia’s war effort.
