Lawmakers Still Conflicted About Giving Israel Weapons

Another factor that could complicate the picture: Lawmakers want to block offensive weapons from going to Israel. But F-15s, often considered to be offensive, were used to shoot down Iran’s missiles, which could raise the question of whether they should be blocked.

Experts say it’s case-by-case: “Many military platforms have offensive and defensive applications. It depends on the context of their use,” Jonathan Lord, director of the Middle East security program at the Center for a New American Security, told NatSec Daily.
