Franz-Stefan Gady, an adjunct senior fellow with the defense program at the Center for a New American Security, agreed Russia benefited in the short term from the damage. But he noted that “it will also affect Russian defenses along the Dnipro, flooding the first line of Russian defense. This may pose a problem for Russian defenses down the road.”
