Murder in Israeli Synagogue Won't Escalate Violence

Three victims were American and one was English, and six others were injured during the latest incident in a string of increasing regional violence over the past several weeks. The attackers have been identified as two Palestinian cousins, Odai Abed Abu Jamal, 22, and Ghassan Muhammad Abu Jamal, 32. They were killed by Israeli police after they used guns, knives and axes against worshippers.

Secretary of State John Kerry condemned the attack Tuesday and called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to offer his condolences. In a statement Kerry said the violence was unacceptable and must be reined in.
