CNAS Announces Axios Media Partnership for 2022 National Security Conference
Washington, June 1, 2022— Today, CNAS announced a media partnership with Axios for the CNAS 2022 National Security Conference, Security in the Balance. The conference, which is scheduled for June 14-16, 2022, will convene leading experts to examine American power and purpose in a changing world.
The speakers include the following:
- Axios world news editor Dave Lawler will moderate the panel "The Future of Russia: Down But Not Out," which will include Andrea Kendall-Taylor, Michael Kofman, Edward Fishman, and Richard Connolly. This interactive panel will examine Russia’s future military capabilities, economic prospects, and political intentions towards the West to paint a more nuanced account of the Russian threat post-Ukraine. The panel is scheduled for 11:00am ET on Tuesday, June 14.
- Axios China reporter Bethany Allen-Ebrahimian will moderate the panel “The Russia-China Nexus—How Should the United State Compete," which will include Richard Fontaine, Andrea Kendall-Taylor, Jennifer Lind, and James Steinberg. The panel will explore the ways in which the United States' national security and foreign policy strategy should evolve to meet the challenges arising from closer ties between Russia and China. The panel is scheduled for 2:30pm ET on Thursday, June 16.
