CNAS Announces New Speakers for 2022 National Security Conference
Washington, June 7, 2022— Today, CNAS announced several new distinguished speakers who will join the CNAS 2022 National Security Conference, Security in the Balance. The conference, which is scheduled for June 14-16, 2022, will convene leading experts to examine American power and purpose in a changing world.
New speakers for previously announced sessions include:
- Sen. Brian Schatz (D-Hawaii) and Dr. Elizabeth Economy will join the U.S.-China Policy in the Balance panel with Ambassador Paula Dobriansky and Jacob Stokes. The panel is scheduled for June 14, 2022 at 3:30pm ET.
- Rep. Mikie Sherrill (D-N.J.) will join the Dangerous Straits: Wargaming a U.S.-China Conflict over Taiwan panel with Richard Fontaine, Chris Dougherty, ED McGrady, Stacie Pettyjohn, Becca Wasser, and Joel Wuthnow. This panel is scheduled for June 15, 2022 at 11:00am ET.
- Adm. Cecil Haney and Heather Nauert will join Richard Fontaine and Kate Koett as judges for the grand finale of The Pitch 2022: A Competition of New Ideas. The event will be hosted by Shai Korman and Katherine Kuzminski, and is scheduled for June 15, 2022 at 2:30pm ET.
The conference will also include a newly added session:
- A Conversation with Rep. Adam Smith: Watch live as Rep. Adam Smith (D-Wash.), Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, joins Dr. Stacie Pettyjohn, Senior Fellow and Director of the CNAS Defense Program, for a conversation about the future of U.S. foreign and defense policy and solutions to some of America’s biggest national security challenges. The conversation is scheduled for June 15, 2022 at 12:30pm ET.
