CNAS Launches New Initiative with Support from the Motwani Jadeja Family Foundation on “Realizing the Potential of the U.S.-India Strategic Partnership”

Washington, October 29, 2024 – The Center for a New American Security’s (CNAS) Indo-Pacific Security Program is launching a new initiative to explore opportunities to elevate U.S.-India relations. The initiative will feature a series of workshops on defense cooperation, technology collaboration, supply chain resiliency, and the future of the Quad partnership.

As India’s influence expands, it plays a growing role in shaping the Indo-Pacific and global order. With the recent national election in India and upcoming elections in the United States, this initiative offers a timely platform to reassess the partnership and generate fresh ideas for advancing bilateral ties.

“This is a pivotal moment for U.S.-India relations,” said Lisa Curtis, director of the Indo-Pacific Security Program at CNAS. “These workshops will examine ways to foster deeper collaboration across defense, technology, and supply chains—essential areas for the future of this strategic partnership.”

These workshops will bring together experts, government officials, private sector leaders, and emerging voices to identify ways to:

  • Enhance military cooperation, with a focus on defense innovation, undersea operations, intelligence sharing, and joint naval exercises;
  • Strengthen technology partnerships in areas like semiconductors, space, and artificial intelligence;
  • Address supply chain diversification challenges; and
  • Deepen Quad collaboration to tackle emerging security threats.

The initiative is made possible with the generous support of Asha Jadeja of the Motwani Jadeja Family Foundation.
