CNAS Welcomes New Adjunct Senior Fellow Eitan Danon
Washington, August 28, 2024 — The Center for a New American Security (CNAS) is pleased to welcome Eitan Danon as an adjunct senior fellow in the Middle East Security program.
“I am thrilled to welcome Eitan to the Center,” said Jonathan Lord, senior fellow and director of the Middle East Security program. “His ability to navigate the intersection of emerging technology and national security, coupled with his hard-earned expertise in the Middle East, adds a valuable new dimension to our program. We are fortunate to have him join us at this high-stakes moment in the region and Washington.”
Eitan Danon is a content marketing manager at Chainalysis, where he leads efforts to highlight the national security and geopolitical implications of how a range of actors are leveraging digital assets and blockchain technology. He has driven efforts to grow the company's global public sector business in strategic markets. Danon has also overseen international teams of technical investigators focused on research, analysis, and advisory at the intersection of national security and the blockchain.
Before joining Chainalysis, Danon served as a senior policy advisor at the U.S. Department of the Treasury, where he addressed high-priority illicit finance and macroeconomic issues across the Middle East. In this role, he represented the Treasury in interagency meetings, liaised with financial institutions, foreign central banks, and the Federal Reserve. Earlier in his career, Danon spent over a decade in the intelligence community, taking on various analytic and operational assignments focused on the Middle East and counterterrorism. Throughout his national security career, he has built, navigated, and implemented a wide range of strategic initiatives in collaboration with U.S. and allied stakeholders.
