Jacob Helberg, Matthew Kibble, and Abdul Subhani Join CNAS Board of Advisors
Washington, May 9, 2022—The Center for a New American Security is pleased to welcome three new members to its Board of Advisors: Jacob Helberg, Matthew Kibble, and Abdul Subhani.
“We are pleased to welcome Jacob, Matthew, and Abdul as new members of our Board of Advisors,” said Richard Fontaine, Chief Executive Officer of CNAS. “With their experience in business, tech, finance, and more, these members’ insights will enhance the Center’s work on key policy issues.”
Helberg is a venture capital investor and the author of The Wires of War: Technology and the Global Struggle for Power (Simon & Schuster, October 2021). Helberg is a Senior Advisor at the Stanford University Center on Geopolitics and Technology and co-chair of the Brookings Institution China Strategy Working Group and the U.S.-France Working Group on China. He is a member of the Manufacturing Leadership Council at the National Association of Manufacturers. From 2016 to 2020, Helberg was Google’s global lead for the company's internal global product policy efforts to combat foreign interference. Prior to joining Google, Helberg was a member of the founding team of GeoQuant, a geopolitical risk forecasting technology company backed by Swiss Re’s venture capital arm, one of the world’s largest reinsurers. Helberg received his Master of Science in cybersecurity risk and strategy from New York University.
Kibble is the Founder and Managing Partner of DYNE Asset Management, an alternative asset management company focused on investing in national security technology and supply chain resiliency for the U.S., U.K., and Australian technology. He is currently a director of multiple private portfolio companies and has been a director of publicly listed Andina Acquisition Corporation II and III (a successful SPAC franchise). He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree, majoring in Finance and Accounting, and a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Biomedical Sciences, both from the University of Queensland, Australia.
Subhani is President & CEO of Centex Technologies, an IT Consulting Company, which he founded in 2006. Centex Technologies has offices in Killeen, Austin, and Dallas, Texas and in Atlanta, Georgia. Subhani is a real estate investor and has a stake in a senior care facility. He speaks all over the world at various IT forums, conferences and seminars on several subjects including Ethical Hacking, Business Intelligence, Data Breaches, Internet Marketing, Cyber Security, IT Auditing, and Social Media Assessment and Auditing. He served as an Adjunct Faculty member for 17 years with Central Texas College and 12 years with Texas A&M University-Central Texas within the Information Systems/Technology departments. Subhani has authored three books: Intro to WWW Marketing (Abbott Press, October 2014), Stay Safe – Introduction to Information Security (Abbott Press, August 2016), and Smarter World, Bigger Threats – Understanding the Internet of Things (Abbott Press, January 2020).
