Keynote Conversation and New Speakers Announced for 2022 CNAS National Security Conference

Washington, June 10, 2022—Today, CNAS announced several new distinguished speakers who will join the 2022 CNAS National Security Conference, Security in the Balance. The conference, which is scheduled for June 14-16, 2022, will convene leading experts to examine American power and purpose in a changing world.

The distinguished speakers include:

  • Dr. Colin Kahl, Under Secretary of Defense for Policy, will join as the keynote speaker for the Opening Session: Security in the Balance with Richard Fontaine. This keynote conversation is scheduled for Tuesday, June 14 at 10:00am ET.
  • Chuck Todd, host of NBC's Meet the Press, will moderate the Dangerous Straits: Wargaming a U.S.-China Conflict over Taiwan panel with Gen. Mike Holmes (Ret.), Bonny Lin, Stacie Pettyjohn, Rep. Mikie Sherrill (D-NJ), Becca Wasser, and Joel Wuthnow. This panel is scheduled for Wednesday, June 15 at 11:00am ET.
  • Ambassador Julianne Smith, U.S. Permanent Representative to NATO, will join a live recording of CNAS' Brussels Sprouts podcast with Andrea Kendall-Taylor and Jim Townsend. The session is scheduled for Wednesday, June 15 at 4:00pm ET.
  • Kurt Campbell, CNAS Co-Founder and the Deputy Assistant to the President and Coordinator for Indo-Pacific Affairs, will join Lisa Curtis for a fireside chat during the Beyond Hub and Spoke: A New Indo-Pacific Order session. The chat is scheduled for Thursday, June 16 at 1:00pm ET.
