From the Dept. of Friends Selling the Books of Friends

I just got a package in the mail that made me smile. Matt Gallagher -- American Hero, Champion Foosballer, and author of a legendary blog written while soldiering in Iraq -- has written a book based on his experiences, and the advance copy just hit my desk. I will read it as soon as I am finished with Deb Amos's elegant new book, about which I will also have more to say soon.

Update: My job rules. The historian William Hitchcock just sent me a copy of his latest book. Out of the blue. Just stone cold landed on my desk.
