Perceptions of Safety
As part of our Safe@Home forum and Securing U.S. Democracy Initiative, we partnered with the non-profit organization More in Common to gain a better understanding on what Americans perceive as the greatest threat to their safety. In support of the Safe@Home project, More in Common conducted a survey from June 23 to June 30, 2022, collecting data from a curated group of 262 American respondents comprised of various qualities and demographics (e.g., geography, race, gender, age, political ideology). The survey’s goal was to measure how concerned Americans are about specific threats and how frequently Americans think about safety. The small sample size provided the opportunity to collect rich qualitative data; for quantitative findings, only major trends were emphasized.
